Whether you have been before or are yet to visit this amazing city, there is always something new to experience.

The time of year you are there can also make for very different experiences.  From sunny summer days lazing in Central Park to wrapping up in the winter months enjoying some al fresco ice skating to keep warm, whenever you are there you are sure to have a memorable time.

For first time visitors, the city’s iconic sights such as the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, Times Square and Central Park are must do’s and rightly so.

But there is so much more to New York and the neighbourhoods in Downtown Manhattan of Greenwich Village, SoHo and TriBeCa are well worth a visit to get a taste of how true New Yorkers live.

There are great restaurants and diners to seek out and plenty of places to experience the nightlife in the city that never sleeps!

In the nearby neighbourhood of Chelsea, there is a relatively new attraction that is well worth including in your visit to New York.  The High Line is a public park located where the elevated trains used to run and it offers a great opportunity to walk above street level surrounded by greenery getting fantastic views of Manhattan.

For those that have been to New York before and are looking to explore beyond Manhattan, the neighbouring borough of Brooklyn is a great place to head to.  There are plenty of interesting neighbourhoods such as Brooklyn Heights as well as the beach at Coney Island where you can also experience the historic Luna Park amusement park for some New York nostalgia.

When you are ready to head back into Manhattan, a great way to do so is by walking across the Brooklyn Bridge where there is a footpath raised above the traffic.  Doing so will provide you with amazing views of the Manhattan skyline as you head towards it with the busy traffic below.  It can also help walk off that slice of pizza that New York and especially Brooklyn is famous for!
